No sustain?

Doesn't matter. This is still a beautiful piece. If this is improv you came up with in 5 minutes, I applaud. Whenever I play on my keyboard, I tend to use the same, if not a similar, progression. To me, it's the best progression to use when you're conveying such sullen emotion. The softened delay makes up for the lack of sustain, so there's no problem there.

Very good stuff. I think anyone with a good ear for music needs to hear music like this. So don't worry about not being heard. If you're not happy here, then go elsewhere. Play for people in your neighborhood, or if need be, just keep advertising yourself. Be confident, just not too cocky. All will work out.

ObsidianSnow responds:

I've started looking into doing some live performances very recently, yeah... If I can manage to get a busking licence, I think I'll start there. Word is that my city doesn't take too kindly to amplification of any kind though, so an electric keyboard might be out of the question.

In any case, thanks for your thoughts and the review, Chaotichism.

"Hope you enjoy this track," huh...

Would it be wrong to say my ears fapped to this?

From beginning to end, I had in my head a computer reading, filing, storing and deleting data - in a less than plain fashion, of course. And you know I was dancing to this. There isn't too much or too little with this track, and the effects you used were just perfect for that industrial sound. I wouldn't be surprised if someone wanted to use this for one of their flash movies.

I can't say that any improvements can be made to this. 10/10, 5/5, faved, downloaded.

RivetGirl666 responds:

Thank you very much :) Your comment certainly made my day, and will inspire even more tracks.

Sad RPG tune.

This reminds me a lot of one of those moments in a video game where the main character begins reflecting after a major battle with someone s/he was close to. Nice and simple, progression basic and well done. Technical terms aren't exactly my friend, but the only thing I think could be improved upon is near the 2:26 mark. I just think a transition is needed between the two key changes. But that's all I can find with this one.

... *sniff* Now...excuse me... *sniff* ...Gotta go.

descara responds:

Thanks for the feedback!

Reading this I realised that transition was pretty much a half-assed way to get back to the home key to make it loop around well that I was going to rewrite but forgot about. Guess I got used to it playing around with different samples in my DAW. Epic fail!

I think you got 0 bombed or something...

I refreshed once and couldn't find this near the top of the list. But no matter, this live session sounds like quite a fun and enjoyable one. Everything was placed rhythmically and the industrial is topped off with ambient frosting. (Now I want cake...)

I think of a chaotic battle between demigods that ends up destroying the world they tried to protect, or something of that nature. Please do NOT stop making music.

AliceMako responds:

Mmmh, dessert analogies right after i finish my rations, good choice of words.

I allways have myself a blast when performing and this piece is no exception, listening back to it now i can't help but feel excited to do it again, allso as usual.

A cursory glance out the window suggests there is, in fact, nobody and their army of fire breathing dragons coming to stop me, i'll take the liberty of making the bold assumption this implies i am still good to go :3

Simple and sweet.

It sounds like it belongs in a "final boss" cave. I like that it seems to have no beginning or end. There aren't many elements to it, which is perfect for an atmospheric loop like this. I would suggest a bit of reverb for the snare you used, just to make it sound a bit more like that cave. And the "hat" you used seems a bit overpowering. But other than that, I like it.

AliceMako responds:

Yeah, it could do with tweaking if i ever get round to it. My working file is actually just the centre piece of this, didnĀ“t do much to edit bar give it a midsection to have it loop.

All samples used are field recordings courtesy of the local morgue, the hat in question is actually a scalpel being placed in a tray, the snare is from canned air that i pitchshifted.

Glad you like :3

Post-apocalyptic sound

It sounds amazing. I almost feel like I'm walking through a futuristic wasteland. I really liked how every sound represents a little element of that post-apocalypse. And of course, the melodies are very simple and not overdone at all. Faved 5 times over.

ThermalLaser responds:

Thanks! I'm glad you Enjoyed it! I dig the post-apocalyptic idea!

Through the mind of a malfunctioning robot.

At first, it really does sound as you had described it. Robot's standing in the rain, and once the beat really begins to kick in, we take a trip through its mind's last moments.

What I liked in this song was how it made me conjure the images the robot could be seeing. Also, that one moment before it begins to malfunction. I liked how the music could convey that. I do feel that the synth kinda overpowered the percussion. Though that could be my soundcard. (Got a Dell. Go figure.) And I feel like the ending was missing a bit. But overall, I like what you did here.

You were up against a lot of competition for Robot Day, I'm guessing. Keep it up.

JohnLeprechaun responds:

Oh, very much so. I was basically competing against all the people that inspired me to start making music to begin with. Kind of overwhelming. >.> I'm really glad you liked it, though. The imbalance of sounds may very well be your card; it sounds fine through headphones or high quality speakers. Thanks for the review, and I will certainly keep it up. :)

*dances*

...Oh, yeah. Don't mind me.

This slow-paced beat is really good for dancing, and the lead synth sounds so balanced to me, it's amazing. The only thing I don't like is that I don't have enough room to dance in this damn room.

This is inspiration right here. Downloaded. Faved.

I-Saved-The-World responds:

Thanks for the review and support! :D Don't forget to blast it as loud as you can ^_^

also, find a bigger room ;P

5 times and counting.

Listened to this song over and over. Regardless of genre, this really feels like a chaotic first- or third-person shooter set in the future. (Yeah, like Metroid.) But at the same time, I see a fight scene taking place in a sociopath's mind. Overall sound really gets to me, in a good way.

Yeah. I love this.

DonCarrera responds:

Wooo, 10! Thx for the review and the compliment regarding the overall sound/production.

Ever witnessed the culmination of numbers and symbols, aimlessly floating around in space, into one huge and underwhelming microcosm? That's not really what I'm like. But you can think of me that way.
